  • Includes employee coverage for Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment

  • Includes Extended Health and Dental Care coverage for employees, their spouse and dependent children, as described in the Benefits Booklet

  • Is 100% paid by HPZ Crusher Services Inc.

  • Fees for Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage is a taxable, non-cash benefit

  • Fees for Extended Health and Dental Care coverage is not a taxable benefit

  • Has a three-month waiting period upon enrolment

  • Eligible expenses incurred during the waiting period may be submitted after the waiting period

At HPZ Crusher Services Inc., we value the work that our employees are doing today. We also want to support their plans for the future. To help our employees plan for their retirement, eligible employees are enrolled in HPZ’s mandatory RRSP Payroll Deductions Program when they have completed their Probation Period. The HPZ Group RRSP Plan is managed by Sun Life Financial Services.

RRSP FAQ

  1. Do I pay income tax on my RRSP payroll contributions?

    • Payroll contributions to your RRSP are not taxed when they are earned. These earnings will be taxed when they are withdrawn from your RRSP in the future.

  2. How much can I contribute each month?

    • Minimum contribution is 3% of your wages (regular and overtime wages, holiday and vacation pay, bonus pay).

    • Maximum contribution is 9% of your wages.

  3. How much will HPZ contribute to my RRSP?

    • HPZ will match 100% of your payroll contributions. These funds are not taxed when they are earned. These funds will be taxed when they are withdrawn from your RRSP in the future.

  4. How will my RRSP contributions by invested?

    • You manage how your RRSP contributions are invested. Sun Life provides a number of investment opportunities to choose from.

    • You will have access to investment education and professional guidance through the mysunlife.ca portal and Sun Life’s financial advisors.

  5. Can I make withdrawals from the HPZ Group RRSP Plan?

    • Your contributions can be withdrawn for the Government of Canada’s Home Buyers’ Plan (HBP) or the Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP).

    • Your contributions may be withdrawn prior to retirement for other purposes subject to Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. HPZ employer contributions may not be withdrawn prior to retirement.

  6. What happens to my RRSP contributions if I no longer work with HPZ?

    • The funds contributed by you and HPZ during your employment with HPZ belong to you.

    • Should you leave HPZ, your Sun Life portfolio will continue to be yours to manage within the Canada Revenue Agency guidelines.

  7. I have unused RRSP allowances from previous years. Can I make additional contributions to the HPZ Group RRSP Plan?

    • Yes, additional unmatched contributions can be made within the limits of the RRSP allowance you have available.
